SUMMER ART CLASSES IN MY LITTLETON CLASSROOM

I am officially launching my beautiful basement classroom and am offering the following classes:

PLEIN AIR PAINTING IN THE GARDEN

We will meet weekly for 3 weeks in local gardens, where there is an abundance of day lilies, hollyhocks, hostas, lavender and fruit trees.  Kristine will demonstrate in oils or watercolors, with emphasis on color, composition and perspective.  Students may use the medium of their choice.

A portable easel or other support is recommended.  Students should bring items such as sunscreen, hat, bug repellent, etc. to be comfortable outdoors.  In case of rain, we will meet in Kristine's classroom and work on floral still life.

Classes will meet Mondays from 9-11:30, July 13, 20 and 27.  Cost is $75.  To register, email Kristine at linglekristine@gmail.com.

MIXING IT UP:  EXPERIMENTING WITH PAINT AND COLLAGE

In this 4-week class, we will explore a variety of mediums, including paste paper, collage, paint, ink, stamps and stencils to create surface design on paper.  After we have created our stash of materials, we will use our decorated paper to create projects such as cards, paper quilts, origami boxes, book covers and prayer flag style banners.  Most materials will be provided.  Students should bring scissors, a flat 1/2"-3/4" synthetic brush and an apron or smock.

Class meets Mondays 9-11:30 August 3, 10, 17 and 24.  Cost is $80.  To register, email me linglekristine@gmail.com.

ART PARTIES, ETC.

I offer private and group lessons in my spacious Littleton classroom in oils, acrylics, watercolors, collage and color theory.  I have a BFA in Art Education from Umass, Amherst, and have been teaching students of all ages since 1989.

I also offer art parties for "girls' night out", bachelorette, birthday and retirement parties.  I provide all materials and step-by-step instruction for you to make and take a small project.  No experience necessary.  Project choices include painting, collage, origami and more.

Cost is $25 per person for a minimum of 4.  Workshops run 1 1/2 to 2 hours.  Contact linglekristine@gmail.com to schedule.

Teaching

I have been teaching Painting Spring Flowers in Watercolor to 3 groups of students at Alumni Hall in Haverhill, NH. I have 36 students in all, such a huge response that we had to schedule an extra class to accomodate all of them.

I will also be offering classes in June on Tuesdays from 1-3 and 5:30-7:30. The 1-3 class will be Painting Floral Still Life in Watercolor, and the 5:30 class be be Landscape Painting in Watercolor.

Next Saturday I will be presenting a workshop called Business Skills for Artists in Colebrook, NH from 1-3 PM. My friend and wildlife watercolorist Jeanette Fournier will be a guest speaker.

On Saturday, May 28, I will be teaching a Littleton Studio School workshop called Outdoor Sketchbook Workshop at the Rocks Estate. We will spend the morning from 10-12 at the Rocks Estate in Bethlehem, NH, have a picnic lunch there, then go The Adair, a country inn in a lovely setting with gardens and woods. We will end at 3 PM.

Last night we hung my paintings and my daughter's (Felicity Lingle) illustrations at the Cold Mountain Cafe in Bethlehem, NH. My paintings are abstract acrylics that I've been working on for the past 8 months or so, and they are inspired by a workshop I took with Flora Bowley at Squam Art Workshops in Holderness, NH last September. Felicity's new works were motivated by her experience living with a rare disease called Neurofibromatosis Type 2, which has caused her to become blind in one eye and deaf in both ears.

I will be offering more classes and workshops in watercolor, oils, collage and bookbinding next fall. I also want to have Studio Parties in my home, where people can come and try a new medium, have some wine and cheese and socialize for a few hours. Contact me if you are interested.
